Pearl (Moti)

Pearl

Pearls are known for their satiny luster and their elegance for millions of years. A pearl is produced from a living organism inside a pearl-bearing mollusk. A natural pearl (Basra) is a rare thing to have and it is produced inside a pearl-bearing mollusk by a natural irritant that forms the pearl inside the shell. However, since the 1940s, men have mastered the pearl culturing process and have created a number of ways to breed pearls by adding an irritant in the mollusk artificially.
